Stardew Valley is a farming and life simulation game by ConcernedApe and Chucklefish Games that was originally released for PC on February 26, 2016. It was ported to Playstation 4 and Xbox One in February 2017.

Gameplay

In Stardew Valley, players can choose to play as either a male or female protagonist (default name is "ConcernedApe") and must spend their days farming, taking care of animals, and exploring the world. Every day, players will have the opportunity to do tasks such as planting and harvesting crops, raising animals, and collecting resources from the land and around the town. Players will also have the opportunity to explore the mine and find items and resources, and find and explore new areas and go on quests.

The player starts with an old farm in Stardew Valley, their grandfather’s old general store, and four hundred dollars. The player is able to explore the valley, collect materials, plant crops, raise farm animals, mine for ores, forage for plants, fish, and engage in combat. The player can engage in combat with the various creatures of the valley, including slimes, goblins, moles, and zombies. These battles are turn-based, with an attack meter that fills up over time. The player can defeat enemies by either striking them with their weapon or through magic. The player can collect materials for crafting, which are used to create goods. Materials can be found in the mines, forest, and at the beach. The player can also fish. The player can get married. The player can get engaged to one of the eligible bachelors or bachelorettes in the valley, or marry any of the NPCs in town.

Graphics

The graphics of Stardew Valley are pixelated and retro. The colors are vibrant and everything is drawn with a lot of detail. All the characters and animals are drawn as pixelated sprites as well as the landscape.

Information about replayability

There are a lot of different things that players can do in Stardew Valley that make the game replayable. There are many different activities that players can do on a daily basis, and there are a variety of different goals that they can work towards. There are many ways in which the game can be played, with the game's two-year calendar allowing the player to take on any pastimes for any length of time, with the game's difficulty level, in contrast with most games, being an in-game setting.
